Photograph – If possible try to locate a
good photograph of your loved one. This picture may be used in the
newspaper and web page obituaries, on prayer cards or memorial folders,
and will be helpful to the beautician. Find any picture you like;
we will crop and edit it for you.
Clothing – It is customary for the deceased
to be dressed in attire they wore most often.
For men it may be a suit or sport coat and tie. However, it may
also be the uniform of an organization in which he was a member
or his favorite jeans. For women, a dress or slacks and a sweater
or blazer are often used. A full set of underclothing is also recommended.
You may bring shoes; however, they are not necessary.
Jewelry – You may bring along any type of
jewelry that you wish your loved one to wear during visiting hours.
Your funeral director will check with you to see which items you
would like to remain with the deceased and which items you prefer
to have removed before burial. We discourage using jewelry with
great monetary value.
Family Photographs & Other Items – Renner
Funeral Home has several magnetic memory boards which families may
use to make a photo collage. It has been our experience that many
families find the sorting out of old photos to be very therapeutic
during this time of loss. Displaying photos and other memorabilia
during the visitation hours help celebrate the deceased’s
life and help others gain an understanding of his/her personality.
