Ramon F. Rasch
Ramon Frederick “Ray” Rasch, 71, of Belleville, IL, born July 27, 1939, in East St. Louis, IL, died Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at his home.
Mr. Rasch was a facility engineer for Johnson Controls. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Cahokia, IL. Since the late 1950’s, Ray, along with his father and brothers, ran Gravely Tractors, a lawn mower sales and service company in Belleville. He enjoyed his time serving as assistant Scoutmaster for Ramon’s Boy Scout troop, Troop 53 in Belleville. He also enjoyed taking his family, Carolee, Ramon, Melanie, and Danny, camping over the years. Mr. Rasch served his country in the Illinois National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolee Ann, nee Paul, Rasch; and his parents, Frederick R. and Marcile, nee Fritz, Rasch.
Surviving are his wife Judith Rae, nee Phillips, (Hickey) Rasch whom he married on June 5, 1999;
three children, Ramon Rasch, Melanie Rasch,
and Daniel Rasch, all of Belleville, IL;
three stepchildren, Stephen (Linda) Hickey, Thomas (Katherine) Hickey,
and Joseph Hickey, all of Belleville, IL;
four grandchildren, Sara Rasch,
and Miranda, Madelyn and Malaina Hickey;
two brothers, Philip (Rhoby) Rasch of Baton Rouge, LA,
and David (Janet) Rasch of St. Peter’s, MO;
his stepmother, Marjorie Kruep-Rasch of Belleville, IL;
his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Dorothy Phillips of Belleville, IL;
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Randall J. (Kathleen) Kehrer,
and Larry R. (Cindy) Phillips, of Belleville, IL,
Douglas L. (Eileen) Phillips of Colorado;
and twelve nieces and nephews.
Ray will be missed more than words can say.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2011, at George Renner and Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011, at Holy Family Historic Log Church, Cahokia, IL.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011, at the church, with Fr. Edward Richard officiating.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Belleville, IL
