Charlotte Racine

Charlotte A. Racine, nee Brown, 72, of Belleville, IL, born April 19, 1939, in Belleville, IL, died Tuesday June 28, 2011 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Emergency Room in Belleville, IL.

Charlotte retired from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville after 38 years of service in the Admitting Department and as a Supervisor.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roy W. “Whitey” Brown; and two sons, Kenneth W. and Richard C. Racine, both of Belleville.

Surviving are her mother, Elvira M. nee Schoen, Brown of New Athens, IL;
her husband, Kenneth, of West Bloomfield, Michigan;
daughter, Ann Rexroth (Mike Cherry) of Caseyville, IL;
son, Gary Racine;
a brother, Roy R. (Elizabeth) Brown of New Athens, IL;
daughter-in-law, Shirley Racine of Waterloo, IL;
two granddaughters, Susan Racine of Waterloo, IL,
  and Winter Racine of Belleville, IL;
one grandson, Gage Pearson;
and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Charlotte’s family would like to give a special thank you to the Freeburg Care Center for all the love and kindness they gave her for the past one and one-half years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at

Visitation:  Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2011, at George Renner and Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2011, at the funeral home, with Fr. Dennis Voss officiating.

Private family interment will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.

    I knew Charlotte from STE. Craig's parents were friends with Charolette and Ken. Recently, I had seen Charlotte on a routine basis while she was at the Freeburg Care Center. I would see her when ever I went to visit my mom and will miss seeing here. Our symapathy to the family.
