Louise Forcade
Louise C. Forcade, nee Lanter, 92, of Smithton, IL, born February 21, 1920, in Belleville, IL, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.
A graduate of the Academy of Notre Dame in Belleville, IL, Mrs. Forcade was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Smithton, IL, where she had served as a Eucharistic minister and was a member of the Women’s Club. She was a charter member of the Association for Home and Community Education. She was also a member of the Council for Extended Care of the Mentally Retarded. Louise and her husband Floyd had traveled the world.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Floyd G. Forcade, whom she married on November 15, 1944, and who died June 4, 2011; her parents, Frank J. and Theckla, nee Gundlach, Lanter; four brothers, Elmer Lanter, Roland “Jack” Lanter, Norman Lanter, and Vincent Lanter; and a sister-in-law, Rosemary Lanter.
Surviving are two daughters and two sons, Lynn (Robert) Meeker of Bloomington, IL,
Daniel F. (Marcia) Forcade of Chandler, AZ,
Mark A. (Kimberly) Forcade of Smithton, IL,
and Sue Ann Forcade of Dittmer, MO;
six grandchildren, Andrya (Jason) Smith and Eric Meeker,
Michael (Jill) Forcade and Christine (John) Miller,
and Kendra (Deric) Blaha and Shannon Forcade;
three great-grandchildren, Niklas and Zoe Smith, and Katelyn Miller;
sisters-in-law, Doris Lanter of Belleville, IL,
Helen Lanter of Covington, IN,
and Helena Lanter of Indianapolis, IN;
and nieces and nephews.
The Forcade family would like to thank the staff at Rosewood Care Center in Swansea for their care of Louise.

Visitation: Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2012, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Smithton, IL.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2012, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Smithton, IL, with the Rev. Kenneth York officiating. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Smithton, IL.
