Reinhold Wachter

Reinhold “Bud” A. Wachter, 83, of Belleville, IL, born January 8, 1929, in New Wells, MO, died Friday, June 1, 2012, at Oak Hill Nursing Home, Waterloo, IL.
Mr. Wachter worked as a manufacturing engineer and was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He taught classes at O’Fallon Technical School, O’Fallon, MO. Bud was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Belleville, IL, and served on many church boards. He was an active volunteer at the Community Kindness Resale Shoppe in Belleville. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of American Legion Belleville Post 58 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Millstadt Post 7980.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Hilda, nee Richter, Wachter; and one brother, Eugene Wachter.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 59 years, Lorene, nee Pilz, Wachter, whom he married on April 11, 1953;
four children, Rev. Keith (Sharon) Wachter of O’Fallon, MO,
Debra (Richard) Juenger of Millstadt, IL,
Pamela (Don) Monroe of Waterloo, IL,
and Susan (Tom) Ackerman of Swansea, IL;
eight grandchildren, Brett (Cara) Wachter, Scott Wachter,
Ryan (Jessica) Petot, Troy (Wendy) Petot,
Christopher (friend, Ashley) Monroe, Kelli Monroe,
Aaron Ackerman, and Brianna Ackerman;
one great-granddaughter, Victoria Petot;
two brothers, Roland (Dorothy) Wachter and Arnold (Verna) Wachter;
two sisters, Florence Hafner and Pauline (Bill) Nitsch;
and one sister-in-law, Lavern Wachter.
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather will truly be missed. His great love of the outdoors and active church membership has influenced all of our lives.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2012, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2012, at Peace Lutheran Church, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2012, at Peace Lutheran Church, Belleville, IL, with Rev. William Pierce officiating.
Burial with military honors will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
