LaVerna Dahlmann

LaVerna E. “Dee” Dahlmann, nee Bertelsman, 90, of Waterloo, IL, born July 11, 1922, in St. Clair Township, IL, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012, in Waterloo, IL.

Mrs. Dahlmann was a 1940 graduate of the Academy of Notre Dame, Belleville, IL.  She was a former member of the Daughters of Isabella.  Dee enjoyed traveling around the world with her beloved husband and life-long companion, Robert.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Robert C. Dahlmann, whom she married on September 28, 1943, and who died on July 10, 2011; her parents, Elmer and Elizabeth, nee Gundlach, Bertelsman; three sisters, Aurelia M. (William) Biehl, Leoba (John) Roach, and Virginia Lanter-Bullock; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, William J. Sr. and Sophia, nee Moessinger, Dahlmann; a brother-in-law, William J. Dahlmann Jr.; a niece, Diane Venstrom; and a great-nephew, John Joseph Davis, in infancy.

Mary Ann Dahlmann of Alton, IL,
and Kay Dahlmann of Belleville, IL;
nieces and nephews, Edith (Ken) Pigg, Mary (Robert) Griffin, Elaine (Robert) Davis,
Esther (Richard) Keefe, William (Patti) Biehl, Karen (Thomas) Hansen, Jerry Roach,
David Roach, Kathy Boozell, Michelle Lanter Brewer, Jean (William) McAdams,
 James (Brigette) Lanter, Thomas W. Dahlmann, Donald J. Dahlmann,
William C. (Jeanne) Dahlmann, Bryan (Jovita) Kloess, Renee (Bill) Bailey,
Jo-nell (Charles) Schmittling, Duane (Peggy) Kloess, Vicki (Tab) Walker,
Michael (Laura) Kloess, and Karen (Craig) Williams;
and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation:  Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2012, at St. Peter’s Cathedral Catholic Church (Chapel), Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2012, at St. Peter’s Cathedral Catholic Church (Chapel), Belleville, IL, with Msgr. John Myler and Bishop Stanley Schlarman concelebrating.

Inurnment will follow at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
