Lucille Blanquart

Lucille R. Blanquart, nee Bauer, 97, of Swansea, IL, born December 15, 1914, in Belleville, IL, died Sunday, November 18, 2012, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Mrs. Blanquart was the owner of Swansea Jewelers until she retired at the age of 75.  She was a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, where she sang in the choir and visited the sick and homebound of the parish.  She was always very generous to those in need.  Lucille was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella Circle 329.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Bert” Blanquart, whom she married on June 1, 1935, and who died on July 17, 1976; a son, John J. Blanquart; her parents, Joseph C. and Ida G., nee Koesterer, Bauer; two sisters, Anna Kalert and Eleanore Becherer; a brother, Francis Bauer; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Surviving are four daughters and a son, Helen (Dave) Seitz of Bonaire, GA,
 Patricia (Jim) Ross of Belleville, IL,
 Joyce (Les) Neutzling of Red Bud, IL,
 Alice (Ken) Mueller of Swansea, IL,
 and Gary (Kathy) Blanquart of Swansea, IL;
a daughter-in-law, Virginia R. Blanquart of Belleville, IL;
20 grandchildren;
37 great-grandchildren;
and six great-great-grandchildren.

 Mom, we were blessed to have had you for our mother, and we’ll never forget
your gentle, caring love.  We’ll miss you and love you forever.

Visitation:  Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2012, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.  

Funeral:  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. William McGhee officiating.   Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
