Robert Koesterer, 88, of Freeburg, IL, born January 14, 1918, in Freeburg, IL, died Sunday, December 3, 2006, at his residence.
Mr. Koesterer was the owner of Koesterer's Market in Belleville, IL, where he also worked as a meat cutter for 20 years. He was a member St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL. Mr. Koesterer was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Olivia, nee Heid, Koesterer; and a brother, Norman Koesterer.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lucinda, nee Eichenseer, Koesterer, whom he married November 21, 1946;
a son, Garry Koesterer of Freeburg, IL;
three daughters, Sharon (John) Needham,
and Patricia (Dennis) Herzing, all of Belleville, IL;
a sister, Berdine (James) Darmstatter of Freeburg, IL;
four grandchildren, Jennifer Needham, Jessica Vick,
John Herzing, and Laura Herzing;
and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral procession will leave at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, December 7, 2006, from George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, IL, for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL, with the Rev. Mark Reyling and Msgr. Donald Eichenseer concelebrating.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Freeburg, IL.
